Harald Grosskopf - Strom
Pivotal krautrock dynamo and kosmiche kuriere Harald Grosskopf gets into a slinky groove on a return to Bureau B’s orbit with a spring in his step.
Renowned as drummer battery for Ash Ra Tempel, Ashra, The Cosmic Jokers, Wallenstein, and other greats of their era, Grosskopf’s stellar arc since the ’70s was arguably given a boost with the well received reissue of his definitive solo debut ’Synthesist’ in the 2010s by RVNG Intl. and Bureau B, the latter of whom have kept it in print for the past decade. They now host his latest actions with the surprisingly fresh but timeless gait and experimental whorls of ‘Strom’, where he effortlessly glides from the whirring disco flight of ‘Bureau 39’, thru sidewinding chug of ‘Blow’ to the strapping disco-techno of ‘Später Strom’ and dramas of ’Stylo Kraut’ and ‘Stromklang’, via descents into ‘80s sci-fi horror score styles with ‘After The Future’ and Carpenterian pulse of ‘Um Pah Pah Uh’, and out into slow-mo cyber-pastoral waft with ‘Gleich Strom’.
