A simple piano trio session, but one that dances along wonderfully -- filled with soulfully rolling bass, lyrical keyboard lines, and a great batch of modal grooves! The group's headed up by pianist Roberto Magris, a player who shares a lot with countryman Marco Di Marco -- a style that breaks free of older piano trio modes, and uses the group format in spirited ways that draw on soulful changes of the 70s -- really pushing the rhythmic combination of the players, yet without falling into simple patterns of funk. Magris' touch on the keys is filled with colors and deep tones -- shading in the record strongly, while still moving forward with the dance of the grooves.
